Vivaldi Browser is a Chromium-based browser developed for customization, user privacy, and unique functionality. It is developed by Vivaldi Technologies and was launched in 2016 specifically for power users, enthusiasts of customization, and people who care about privacy, demanding more control over their browsing experience. This is different from other mainstream browsers, because Vivaldi focuses on an environment that is personalized and feature-rich.
It allows for extreme customizability of the browser interface: themes, color schemes, tab layouts, and keyboard shortcuts. Vivaldi is also very good at handling tabs: they can be stacked, tiled, and put into a special hibernation mode. The software contains built-in tools: note-taking panel, screenshot tool, and a built-in email client. It does not need separate applications. Web panels allow users to dock the most often visited websites to the browser’s sidebar and easily manage multiple pages without opening the new window or tab.
Vivaldi does not track user activities nor store the browsing history on its server. It encrypts the data locally, thus giving users a safe browsing environment, along with an ad and tracker blocker, so as not to distract anyone in any way.
The interface of Vivaldi is indeed pretty complex, and users accustomed to less demanding browsers might feel overwhelmed. It also places a heavy demand on less robust systems and has a relatively smaller population of users, which means less user-driven support. However, it stands out for anyone seeking solid functionality and personalization in a browser.
